I never, ever, think of plastic bags as hip. Sure, there are lots of artists out there making wonderfully fun accessories from repurposed plastic bags, but I never thought that accessories made from plastic grocery bags could be much more than just accessories made from plastic grocery bags...very cool in a self-referential kind of way, but not the most stylish of materials. Permanent Baggage changed my mind on that one.
Each bag is made from 98% reclaimed materials. The core material of each bag is fabric made from tightly woven strips cut from plastic shopping bags. The plastic is paired with vintage fabric, and each bag is embellished with vintage beads, buttons, and other interesting hardware. Handles are handmade from wood
scraps. These are bags that make the best use of material: found, repurposed, but still exceptionally cute.
