In a time where the word "photoshopping" will soon have its own dictionary entry (it should!), it's comforting to see that some people are still doing it the "old way", scouring images from various sources, grabbing the ol' scissors or exacto knife and creating collages by hand. There's a definite nostalgic feeling that can get lost when artwork feels too "digitized", but Francesca Berrini of Unusual Cards is working to bring that nostalgia back with a pair of two good hands. She creates sarcastic and biting collage artwork from vintage images with a skill that rivals any photoshopping techniques- check them out at Unusual Cards!

There are new little indie shops blossoming up everywhere like pretty little flowers upon a stark grey Big Box landscape. One such little shop adding some color and beauty to the world is Blossom Creations. Erin is the brains behind the operation, creating housewares, stationery and accessories that are not only lovely, but environmentally sustainable as well, from her studio down under in Brisbane, Australia. She's starting small and hopes to create a full range of unique gifts that do not sacrifice style for the good of the environment proving that goods can be hip and sustainable at the same time!

Annnnd, because I have absolutely no time to spare and I want to make sure that I never sleep again (and also because I need a "creative writing" outlet and my personal blog is just too personal, I have nothing to say about myself...) I started ANOTHER blog called we are all animals. 
You'll notice I just started it yesterday so there's only a few posts, but it's going to be filled with funny/wierd new stories from around the world, about celebs and regular folk alike, that help point out the "animal tendencies" that we humans have in how we act, treat one another, etc. It's basically just a gossip blog with a furry spin :) My cat also gets to be a "special correspondent" with her reports from the animal viewpoint. It's tooootally different than this blog, but check it out if ye like and bookmark it and tell yer friends if it's something you'd like to keep reading! Alright, that's all for today, back to "real" work!

cute online consignment shop, has celebrated their 3 year anniversary by opening up a real brick and mortar boutique in Hatboro, PA! The new shop, like its online predecessor, features handmade clothing, jewelry, fanzines, purses and more by over 100 indie crafters, artists and zinesters! If you're in the area, do check it out and if not, don't fret, the online shop is still alive and kickin'!
Also, you may remember when I wrote about Elijah Wyman's rotten kidneys a few weeks ago and all the things you can do to help out with the costs of his operation and post treatment- well, the Wonderland Retreat has come to the rescue again, offering an easy way to help out- go shopping! All proceeds from the Wonderland Retreat shop will be donated to the Elijah Wyman kidney fund. There's lots of good stuff to choose from so you can pick up something nifty and help out at the same time!
